Basically, renewable energy is the energy that is generated from renewable resources, that is, resources that are naturally replenished. These resources are renewable in a sense that they never come to an end. Renewable energy is thus, derived from natural phenomena. The advantage in this is that the sources replenished constantly. Though there are several renewable resources, renewable energy is generally generated from three major renewable resources namely, wind power, waterpower and sunlight. Though majority of renewable energy is powered from sun, wind and water energy are also enormously energetic. Each of these sources has some unique characteristics and these characteristics influence how and where they are utilized. But, the need of the hour is that we should preserve fossil fuels. Though we have a viable alternative but that does not imply that we should use the fossil fuels blindly. A strong wakefulness should be spread among the populace.
